Unlock the target for debug

Syntax

unlock

Discussion

The unlock command is used to unlock an AMD target for debug.  This uses the Secure Debug Unlock mechanism (SDU) built into AMD silicon.  Information is extracted from the target, and submitted to the AMD Key Distribution Server (KDS).  The KDS responds with unlock data that is then written to the target.

SDU requires AMD NDA credentials.  It also requires that these credentials are registered with the KDS.  Contact your AMD representative for more information.

Unlock is only required for locked (secured) silicon.  Early silicon may not require this.  SourcePoint will automatically detect unlocked silicon and ignore the unlock command.

Typing unlock opens the Secure Debug Unlock dialog:

Username: Your AMD username.  If the Save checkbox is checked, this value will be saved in your project file.

Password: Your AMD password.  If the Save checkbox is checked, this value will be saved (in encrypted form) in your project file.

The Proxy Server section is only required if your facility uses a proxy server for internet access.

Address: The proxy server IP address and port number in the form of address:port.  DNS names are not currently supported.

Username:  Your proxy server username (if required).  If the Save checkbox is checked, this value will be saved in your project file.

Password:  Your proxy server password (if required).  If the Save checkbox is checked, this value will be saved (in encrypted form) in your project file.

The unlock process takes up to 2 minutes to complete.
