Serial Port Functional Test | FPGA UART IP | JTAG

How do you verify the hardware functionality of serial communication interfaces on a new board, such as UART, SPI, I2C, before the system’s functional software has been completed? The answer is: you can’t.

Until now, that is. In fact, you can verify these interfaces without system software. How, you might ask?

You’ll need re-usable test IP – an embedded instrument – to insert into an on-board FPGA so the board bring-up team can do its work ASAP. This IP simply verifies and tests the serial hardware interfaces without any of the system’s functional software. Now you can shorten your prototype validation phase and get your products to market on time.
