PCI-400 Four Port JTAG Controller
Product Overview
The PCI-400 provides a sustained data throughput of 50 Mbits/second
for each of four test ports. The high throughput and multiple
test ports result in faster production throughput for both
testing and on-board programming of flash memory. A controller-to-UUT
distance of over 50 feet at the maximum TCK frequency of 50
MHz is supported to provide the flexibility needed in your
development labs and manufacturing environments. UUT interface
voltages from 1.8V to 5.0V provide support for the technologies
you use today. The PCI-400 also supports 20 individually controllable
discrete I/O signals for controlling and monitoring non-boundary-scan
signals.

ScanWorks supports up to three PCI-400 controller cards
in one PC. Each controller card supports two, four-port boundary-scan
interface pods for a possible total of 24 test ports.
ScanWorks software provides a means for the user to map
each port to the design(s) to be tested. When the tests are
applied, the user can select which ports should be active.
Product Description
The PCI-400 product, Figure 1, consists of a boundary-scan
controller card that installs in the PCI backplane of your
PC and an interface pod with four test ports. The base PCI-400
product includes cables that support a PC-to-pod distance
of ten feet and a pod-to-UUT distance of three feet at the
full 50 MHz TCK frequency. The pod is powered by the controller
card for distances of less than 10 feet, but requires an external
power supply at distances of over 10 feet. A cable and an
external power supply to extend the PC-to-pod distance to
fifty feet at the full 50 MHz TCK frequency are available.
The standard package includes:
- A PCI controller card
- A four test port interface pod
- A controller cable (10 feet)
- Four pod-to-UUT cables (3 feet each)
- A power cable (10 feet)
- Four adapters to match PCI-100 style UUT connectors to
PCI-400 cable connectors
- Complete documentation
