Training pays off for ScanWorks® users

Misael Saucedo of Flextronics had an inkling that ‘learning on the fly’, as he called it, might not be the best way to go about learning how to use ScanWorks. Now, after two training classes, he’s getting the utmost value from the software.

“I had been working with ScanWorks for four or five months before I took the Basic Boundary Scan training class,” Misael said. “I took the first class because I just wanted to make sure I filled any gaps in my knowledge and that there wasn’t a more productive way of using ScanWorks than the way I was using it. When you’re learning on the fly, you don’t always have time to explore and find everything that’s available.”

After attending the Basic Boundary Scan class, Misael signed up for the Test Debug class. “I wanted to make sure I had all the steps right; that I understood how things were set up in ScanWorks and that if there was an easier way of doing something, I knew about it,” he said. “The classes I took were very helpful. The instructor made sure everyone in the class understood the concepts before he went on to new information. At Flextronics we tend to push the limits of boundary scan, so the training has been very useful for me.”
