INSIDE ASSET

Penang Boundary-Scan Technology Center

ASSET recently established a Southeast Asian Boundary-Scan Technology Center in Penman, Malaysia, and appointed Lester Tseng as the JTAG Technical Support Manager for the new center.

“Our customer base in this part of the world is expanding steadily and it has always been of critical importance to ASSET that we support our users with local experts who know the technology as well as the local business practices,” said Fred Runco, Director of Asian Business Development for ASSET. “Lester and the other people we’ve hired for our other boundary-scan centers in Asia fit the bill perfectly.”

The Southeast Asian Boundary-Scan Technology Center coordinates all of ASSET’s technical support for the ScanWorks JTAG system and DFT Analyzer boundary-scan design tool. The Penang office will be responsible for technical support and other business activities in the region which includes Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and India. The Malaysian office is ASSET’s fourth technology center in Asia, joining the company’s regional headquarters in Shanghai, China, as well as other Boundary-Scan Technology Centers in Taipei, Taiwan, and Tokyo, Japan.

In Asia, leading companies like Mitsubishi Communications, Mediatek, Alpha Networks, Sharp, Olympus and others have recently adopted ScanWorks for their boundary-scan test needs.

The Southeast Asian Center is located at 19C-G, Persiaran Bayan Indah, Bayan Bay, Bayan Lepas, Penang, 1900 Malaysia. The local phone is: 60 4 646 6805; Fax: 60 4 644 6805.
