The new ASSET Boundary-Scan Technology Center in Shanghai, China is coordinating all of the company’s technical support and sales activities in Asia. In addition, plans call for the Asian office to be used as a research and development center in the future.
Fred Runco, director of Asian business development, manages the office, which includes Wee Loon Soh as technical support manager and Alex Ou as sales manager for China and Taiwan.

“Electronics manufacturers in China and the rest of Asia have made product quality a top priority and they are increasingly considering boundary-scan test as an important way of ensuring the quality of the systems they manufacture,” Alan Sguigna, ASSET’s vice president of sales and marketing said. “ASSET has always committed significant resources to customer support and we have been able to develop longstanding relationships with many of our users as a result. We expect to do the same in Asia.”
“Having a direct support center in Asia is a distinct advantage,” Runco said. “We can be very responsive to our customers’ needs and fully support them as they deploy boundary-scan technology throughout their operations. In the future, we will take advantage of the technical talent in Asia and evolve this office into a product development center for ASSET.”
