What’s new in ScanWorks 3.7

A new version of ScanWorks (3.7) includes expanded in-system programming (ISP) capabilities and several other new features. Specifically, ScanWorks’s ISP features have been enhanced to include NAND flash memory.

With this release, ScanWorks will be able to perform basic read/write operations on NAND flash. In addition, the interconnects to NAND memory devices are tested before any programming operation takes place. ASSET is seeking feedback from users to determine which NAND programming enhancements should be included in future versions of ScanWorks.

Another new feature in 3.7 is a conversion capability that enables certain ScanWorks actions to be exported as STAPL operations. STAPL (Standard Test and Programming Language) is a standard of the Electronics Industry Association and the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association. (JEDEC was once as known as the Joint Electronic Device Engineering Council.) STAPL is based on the IEEE 1149.1 boundary scan standard and supports in-system programming and testing of systems. STAPL is commonly used to configure logic devices and for certain system-level test and logic configuration operations.

In addition, the standard ScanWorks Combined Coverage report has been expanded to include the microprocessor-based functional test processes that are performed by ScanWorks’ Extended JTAG Coverage product. In addition, pull-down resistors are now included in the Combined Coverage report as well.

ScanWorks 3.7 includes improvements to its Design Browser, ScanWorksAPI and its macro-generation capabilities.
