Hundreds of processors join the Extended JTAG Coverage fold

Support for hundreds of processors has been added to ScanWorks Extended JTAG Coverage, which combines boundary-scan testing with the functional processor emulation testing of µMaster from International Test Technologies.

Augmenting its support for Intel® Pentium and XScale® processors, as well as Freescale/IBM PowerPC processors, Extended JTAG Coverage now supports all processors based on the ARM 7/9 core, which is used by processors from Atmel, Freescale, TI, Samsung, Toshiba and many others.

The TI OMAP processors, which are quite popular in many smartphones on the market today, are also supported.

Moreover, the ColdFire and 683xx processors now are supported by ScanWorks Extended JTAG Coverage. ColdFire and 683xx processors have been deployed in a broad range of applications including telecommunications, automotive, aerospace and industrial control systems.

ScanWorks Extended JTAG Coverage takes advantage of µMaster’s JTAG-based CPU emulation, so at-speed functional tests can be run on circuit boards via the IEEE 1149.1 interface on most processors. At the same time, standard ScanWorks boundary-scan tests can be applied to the same circuit board. ASSET and International Test Technologies have worked closely together to develop this unique combinational test approach.
