New TopCAT automation technology for ScanWorks unveiled at ITC (Booth 1328)

TopCAT for ScanWorks is a breakthrough automation technology that accelerates automatic test generation. Tests that once took days or even weeks can now be generated in a fraction of the time. For example, a benchmark on a complex board with 9,000 nets, over 40,000 solder joints, approximately 6,000 components including more than 60 memory clusters and over 40 logic clusters, showed that TopCAT reduced test development time to less than a day and ensured high test coverage.

TopCAT is being demonstrated in ASSET's booth (1328) at the International Test Conference (Sept. 30-Oct. 2 in the Charlotte Convention Center). TopCAT is part of a new release of ScanWorks, version 3.3.2. Also included in this version are several other new capabilities involving automatic test generation for manufacturing test stations, and productivity enhancements for diagnostic and repair operations. New hardware, such as the PXI-100 Boundary Scan Controller for PXI-based systems, is also a part of the new ScanWorks system.

Other technology demonstrations at ITC will include a virtual demo of the seamless integration of ScanWorks with Agilent Technologies' 3070 In-Circuit Test (ICT) system. Several years ago, ASSET and Agilent became strategic partners. ScanWorks is now exclusively integrated into the 3070 as its boundary scan capability and it is resold and supported by Agilent.

Another demo at ICT will show ScanWorks' graphical design browser which provides a graphical user interface to design data like schematics and layouts. And lastly, the implementation of boundary scan-based functional test will also be presented in the ASSET booth at ITC.
