Chip Debug

A lot is riding on that JTAG port on your chip. You and your customers depend on it as a debug portal to those embedded instruments in your chip, like I/O BIST, memory BIST, logic BIST, voltage monitors and others. And you need those instruments to debug problems. JTD is an interactive chip debugger that keeps the data flowing through the JTAG portal. You get to stop, start, step through, whatever it takes to debug your device. You can even track the JTAG state machine or take a look at the waveforms generated by internal scan registers.

Circuit Board Debug

Test fails, now what? Or maybe your board won’t even boot up. And your job is to figure out what's wrong. The multiple debug and diagnostic technologies on the ScanWorks platform have all your bases covered. So you think there’s a short or an open under a BGA? Boundary-scan diagnostic tools can usually find it. Board won’t boot? Processor-controlled test can handle it. Data transfers failing across a bus? High-speed I/O tools using test and validation instruments embedded on-chip can show you where the problem is. And none of these tools rely on physical contact. It’s an inside job with ScanWorks’ embedded instrumentation debug and diagnostic tools.

System Debug

Of course, in the end all that matters is the system. Good chips and solid boards don’t always add up. Boards that work on their own, may not together. Are your daughter boards not mating to the motherboard? DIMMs inaccessible? And then some systems end up in the most outrageous places. Atop a mountain. In the middle of a desert. And who wants the expense of sending out a technician? Still, problems have to be diagnosed. Or problems become failures and those high-availability systems are suddenly anything but. ScanWorks’ diagnostic tools give you visibility. They pinpoint the bugs before they cause failures. They can even find some of those tough software bugs.
